Elon Musk Will Make Twitter Employees Jobless.
Elon Musk, who was rumoured to be interested in buying Twitter just a few days ago, is definitely going to buy the platform. The Tesla and SpaceX CEO bought Twitter for 44 Billion Dollars. Elon Musk sees a lot of room for improvement at Twitter. The way he sees it, the social network’s best days might be behind it. But he plans to change that with some much-needed improvements.
Elon Musk has downplayed the prospects of layoffs at Twitter, despite frayed nerves among employees and investors about his motives for buying the social media company. Bloomberg, & The Washington Post reported that Musk discussed making “efficiencies” at the company during conversations with bankers, “which could include job cuts.
In April, Musk said at TED TALKS that his goal with Twitter is “not to make money,” He further added “My strong intuitive is that having a public platform that is maximally trusted and broadly inclusive is extremely important to the future of civilization. I don’t care about the economics at all.”
On Twitter, Musk has time and time again made the public aware of his feelings on Twitter’s content policies. He has been vocal about how Twitter has handled this in the past, and he may be looking for more freedom in how the platform can be used as was seen when he closed Tesla’s PR department. Musk is now thinking to cut down on Twitter’s policy department.
