Keith Pelley is set to assume the role of President and CEO at Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE), as confirmed by a reliable source on Wednesday, with the initial report coming from TSN’s Rick Westhead.
Pelley brings extensive experience in Toronto’s sports scene, having previously served as the President and CEO of the CFL’s Toronto Argonauts. He has also held prominent executive positions at Rogers Communications and Bell, both of which are major shareholders in MLSE.
During his tenure at Rogers Media, Pelley played a pivotal role in the negotiations that resulted in the NHL’s lucrative $5.2 billion Canadian television deal, extending through 2026.
As the parent company of the Maple Leafs, Argonauts, Toronto Raptors of the NBA, and Toronto FC of MLS, MLSE refrained from offering comments on this development. Stay tuned for the exciting leadership transition at the helm of Toronto’s premier sports and entertainment organization!
