Unfortunately, there won’t be a third season for Kaley Cuoco’s HBO thriller series, The Flight Attendant. The acclaimed show, in which Cuoco played the lead role of flight attendant Cassie Bowden, has been canceled after its two-season run.
Cuoco expressed her gratitude in a statement to E! News on January 19, noting that she always envisioned The Flight Attendant as a limited series and was thankful for the opportunity to deliver two thrilling seasons with the incredible creative team.
Reflecting on the show’s legacy, creator Steve Yockey acknowledged the show’s success and thanked viewers and critics for their positive reception. He reassured fans that, while everyone moves on to new projects, the two seasons of The Flight Attendant and the exceptional team behind them will always hold a special place in his heart.
Based on the 2018 Chris Bohjalian novel, the series premiered in 2019, marking Cuoco’s return to television after The Big Bang Theory concluded in 2019. Despite the cancellation, Cuoco expressed that playing Cassie was a dream come true, earning her three Emmy nods and two Golden Globe nominations.
The actress faced challenges during the second season, dealing with a tormented character while going through a difficult divorce in 2022. Cuoco shared the hardships she faced, including developing a stress rash, but also highlighted the support she received from the cast and crew during that challenging time.
